Emily is a landscape designer at Hapa Collaborative, driven by her passion for regenerative design, community engagement, and ecological stewardship. Holding a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of British Columbia, Emily integrates her background in human geography and critical studies in sexuality to craft inclusive, community-centred designs. Before joining Hapa, she worked as a research assistant with the Lower Fraser Floodplain Coalition, where she developed visual materials to support nature-based flood mitigation initiatives in collaboration with Indigenous Nations. Emily’s diverse professional experience also includes serving as an art technician at the Rennie Museum and working as a community connector for individuals with cognitive disabilities. As a strong advocate for active transportation, she has managed community bicycle shops and programming, combining her technical skills with a commitment to social equity. With published work on urban public spaces, Emily continues to explore the dynamic intersection of architecture, landscape, community and local ecology.
