Nanaimo Skytrain Station Plaza

The renovation of a bus loop at the Nanaimo Skytrain Station brought about the opportunity to create a new plaza. The much-needed pedestrian hub occupies a prominent vantage point on the Nanaimo streetscape, serving uses at a confluence of multiple transportation networks. Capitalizing on mountain views and pedestrians waiting to catch a bus, large plaza benches offer places to gather, linger and socialize.
Hapa worked with omb architecture to create a fully accessible public space with refined aesthetic qualities that will make spending time there a pleasant experience.
