Lions Gate Hospital

The new Acute Care Facility at Lion’s Gate Hospital serves residents of the North Shore and the Sea-to-Sky corridor, replacing aging infrastructure to become one of the most technologically advanced health care facilities in BC. On this project, Hapa produced a series of restorative gardens designed to bring calm and respite to the health care environment.
The landscape design brings unity to the building massing and site, taking inspiration from the local context within the North Shore mountains. Intuitive wayfinding and looping pathways lead through a series of gardens each with their own character and features, cultivating curiosity and fostering moments of delight and discovery. A careful selection of indigenous plantings, accented with seasonal interest feature plantings, provides an ever-engaging and seasonally dynamic palette to explore.
